One doesn’t
have control over birth so birth cannot be the medium of fixing one’s identity
(especially negative) in society. We know, every person have equal rights in
the society though incredibly, it is true that all person don't find equal
opportunity (not equal right). In our society rights and equality are fixed by
birth for some people. Let me tell you a story.
Nasima
Begum, a normal human being but in the society she is considered as “illegal
child” only because of she has no paternal identity. Her mother was raped by Pakistani
army during the liberation war in 1971 and she gave birth her. From the very
child hood she has been being treated as “illegal child”. Her whole life is in
under difficulties. No mother allowed their baby to play with her, talked to
her and fraternize her. She is now 47 and still facing the identity crisis and
a sever discrimination.
The
question is, is she responsible for this anyhow or is it a problem of the
society?
